Thanks for visiting my website!
My areas of expertise are aircraft accident investigation and aircraft structural design.
I'm always interested in supporting new aerospace design projects so please contact me if you think I could help you with your aircraft design or aircraft mishap needs.
I’m a pilot, have a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering and hold an airframe and powerplant mechanic license with Inspection Authorization (IA).
When I was nineteen years old I started building the Vari-Eze aircraft you see above. Building this aircraft inspired me to get my Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering.
I have worked for about 40 years in the aerospace industry. During my 40 years of aerospace employment, I worked approximately seven years doing aircraft accident investigation.
I have worked both civilian and military aircraft accident investigations. I worked for two years for the National Transportation Safety Board as an aircraft accident investigator completing about 80 accident investigations and I worked over five years with Lockheed Martin as an aircraft mishap investigator completing about 140 investigations.
The other thirty three years of my aerospace experience focused on aircraft design, fabrication and testing.
Currently I'm working on some personal aircraft projects including a general aviation mishap investigation.
Please look at the aircraft mishap investigation page and the aircraft design page for programs I have supported.
V/r,
David Boldenow
